PTI slams ICT for not allowing Imran Khan’s helicopter to land at Parade Ground

The Army Headquarters earlier informed PTI that it has no objection to the landing and taking off of a helicopter at the Parade Ground. On the other hand, the Islamabad administration has denied the permission.

PTI leaders are criticizing the Islamabad administration for rejecting the party’s request regarding the landing of Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s helicopter at Parade Ground on November 26.

According to the details, the administration has issued a notification in which it is stated that Imran Khan’s helicopter cannot be allowed to land on the Parade Ground in Islamabad.

Pertinent to mention that the Army Headquarters (GHQ) informed PTI that it has no objection to the landing and taking off of a helicopter, which would carry the PTI Chairman from Lahore to Islamabad for the November 26 rally, at Parade Ground.

In addition, the GHQ’s letter signed by Lieutenant Colonel Rao Farman Ali stated that “it is intimated that Capital Development Authority/Federal Government may be approached as the Parade Ground is under their jurisdiction”.

The letter was forwarded for information to the CDA, Inspector General of Police, chief commissioner Islamabad, commissioner, deputy commissioner, city police officer of Rawalpindi, and the Military Operation Directorate.

However, it seems that the Islamabad Administration has denied PTI permission to land the former premier’s helicopter at the Parade Ground. As a result, PTI leaders are criticizing the ICT, and also accusing it of putting Imran Khan’s life in danger.

“The Islamabad administration denied permission to Imran Khan’s helicopter to land on the parade ground. No reason is given because there can be none. The Islamabad administration is deliberately trying to increase the threat to Imran Khan’s life,” Asad Umar said.

“ICT has denied permission for Imran Khan’s helicopter to land at Parade Ground although the GHQ permission came yesterday – need permission from both! Clearly, this is farcical & a case of a good cop-bad cop. The fear of Imran Khan has seeped into Conspirators’ minds and they continue to threaten his life,” Shireen Mazari said.
