Report Unveils Grotesque Nature of Psychological Violence on Imran Khan

Pakistan's former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, is being subjected to mental torture while in custody.

In a stark illustration of Pakistan’s rapid slide towards authoritarianism, unsettling incidents of sexual surveillance and voyeurism have emerged over the past year and a half. The latest revelation involves the installation of a CCTV camera right outside the prison cell of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, leaving his private toilet exposed for all to see.

This move raises troubling questions about the motivations behind such an invasive act. Is it a deliberate attempt to degrade Khan’s dignity, an insidious strategy to capture compromising footage for later dissemination on social media platforms like YouTube, or an embodiment of the disturbing fetishes of certain intelligence operatives?

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, is being subjected to mental torture while in custody. A recent report from a judge has further emphasized how Khan is being subjected to psychological pressure.

According to the rules, it is customary for judges to conduct routine visits to assess the facilities provided in the prison. In this context, an additional session judge named Judge Shafqut Ullah Khan visited the jail to evaluate the amenities offered to the inmates, including Imran Khan, along with other prisoners.

Judge Shafqut Ullah Khan’s report states that CCTV cameras have been installed just outside Imran Khan‘s cell. The CCTV cameras have direct access to the view of the open toilet and shower area.

Furthermore, the report states that Khan is not being allowed to meet his wife and lawyers, a concern which has been repeatedly expressed by Khan’s legal team ever since his arrest.

The incident serves as a chilling reminder of the erosion of personal privacy and civil liberties in a country grappling with an intensified authoritarian trajectory. As Pakistan’s political landscape continues to shift, these unnerving events underscore the dire need for accountability, transparency, and the protection of fundamental rights.

Despite the inhumane treatment, Imran Khan’s resilience remains unwavering. He stands firm as a rock for democracy and the supremacy of the law. His spirit remains unbroken by such harsh tactics, and neither his party leaders nor workers can be deterred by these attempts to undermine their morale.
