Security Forces Foil Suicide Attack Plan in Loralai

Security forces foiled a terror attack bid, killing one suicide bomber while the other blew himself up. During the encounter, two FC soldiers sustained grave injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The law enforcement agencies, on Friday, foiled a terror attack bid that led to the death of one potential suicide bomber. The operation led to an exchange of fire, while another suicide bomber blew himself up during a search operation conducted in the Loralai area.

During the exchange of fire, two soldiers of the Frontier Corps, Abdul Latif and Mohammad Sharif, sustained grave injuries and were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Loralai.

Suicide Attack Foiled

Sources close to the operation revealed that the FC personnel serving at a check-post at the Killi Kawar area, located on the outskirts of the Loralai town, in close proximity of the University of Loralai, signalled two men on a motorcycle to stop. Instead of stopping at the check post, the two men opened fire on the FC soldiers.

Sources further reveal that the suspects attempted to escape and took refuge near a seasonal river. The area was cordoned off by the security forces, who then launched a search operation to track down the two assailants. Officials from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had also joined the FC soldiers in the cordon and search operation.

An encounter ensued and one potential suicide bomber was killed, while the other detonated the jacket carrying explosives. A CTD official revealed that both terrorists were wearing jackets laden with explosives, and had intentions to attack a significant place in Loralai.
