Shahid Afridi’s Game Changer: ‘Was left heartbroken and humiliated by a girl before marriage’

Star cricketer Shahid Afridi in his book has stated that he was betrayed by a girl before his marriage. He made a startling revelation in his autobiography ‘Game Changer’.

Afridi in his book recounted an incident that happened to him before he tied the knot to his present wife. He narrated how the girl left him and he felt humiliated after the incident.

Before I was married this girl would often phone me. Her voice was amazing. Mobile phones were newly introduced and were quite expensive then. I spent a lot to hear that girl’s voice,” he stated in his freshly released book.

Afridi stated that after months of talking to her and falling for her voice, even more, the two decided to meet in person.

He was, however, left heartbroken on the day he was about to meet that girl. “The bell rang and there stood a young man holding some roses. I received the shock of my life when he said he was the same girl I’d been talking to all these months,” he wrote in his book.

Shahid Afridi in his book has made shocking revelations about several legendary players like Javed Miandad and Imran Khan who is the current prime minister of Pakistan.

Commenting on the leadership style of Imran Khan, he wrote, PM Khan has an “abrasive style leadership” he adds, “By the way, they say that Khan… runs his cabinet the same way.”

He also called Waqar Younus ‘a mediocre captain and terrible coach.’

In another shock, Shahid Afridi also revealed his real age in his book. He stated he was born in 1975 and not in 1977. He stated his age was quoted wrong hence during his debut Afridi was around 20-19 and not 16 that has raised a question on all the records he has made in his entire cricketing career.
