Six militants killed in an IBO by Pakistan Army

Operations to eliminate such perpetrators of terrorist acts in Pakistan will continue and they will not be allowed to sabotage peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.

Six terrorists, who were involved in the checkpoint attack conducted in the Kech district of Balochistan, were killed during a raid conducted by security forces in the Injirkan Range near Buleda district. According to a statement released by the ISPR, the operation was concluded after a heavy exchange of fire. The operation was based on intelligence reports about the whereabouts of the terrorists involved in the Kech district terror attacks. The military recovered cache of arms and ammunition from the terrorist hideout.

The military wing of the armed forces stressed that it is determined “to apprehend externally sponsored enemies of peace in Balochistan.”

Recently there has been an uptick in such terror attacks, most notably after the Army expressed its resolve to commit to the border fencing procedure. In January alone, numerous terrorist attacks rocked Pakistan as the intensity and the frequency of the attacks increased manifolds for the first time since the Army concluded its anti-terror operations in Waziristan and other former federally administered tribal areas. The start of February also saw another attempt by terrorists to attack security forces camps but was repulsed by the security forces, followed by a subsequent clearance operation in which 20 terrorists were killed.

ISPR, in a statement, expressed the resolve of the country’s armed services and said, “Operations to eliminate such perpetrators of terrorist acts in Pakistan will continue and they will not be allowed to sabotage peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.” Balochistan has remained a focus of terrorist activities, especially after China’s total commitment to the development of Gwadar port.

Pakistan recently presented a dossier containing “irrefutable evidence” which unveiled the state-sponsored terrorism which was taking place in Balochistan and called for the international community to take notice and make efforts to preserve the peace and stability in the region.

This instability poses a threat to the region’s stability and hinders progress on regional connectivity, and necessitates global action.

Pakistan witnessed a 56 percent increase in terror attacks in the year 2021. Militants carried out 294 attacks, killed 388 people, and wounded another 606 in just a single year. This is a huge blow to all the efforts by Pakistani forces over the past few years, but Pakistan Army remains committed to do away with the scourge of terrorism from the country.
