Students to get free treatment at designated hospitals in Lahore

The Punjab government has decided to provide Insaaf Health cards to students of all high and higher secondary schools across Lahore under the Sehat Sahulat Programme.

The Punjab government has decided to provide Insaaf Health cards to students of all high and higher secondary schools across Lahore under the Sehat Sahulat Programme, reported ARY News.

The card will enable students to get free treatment at 25 hospitals in the provincial capital. Lahore’s district education officer has written a letter to the heads of all high and higher secondary schools in the city to provide relevant documents of students for the purpose.

“It is [to] inform you that by the cooperation of the Health Department and SEHAT SAHULAT PROGRAM the health Department will issue INSAAF Health cards for your school’s students for this your cooperation with health Department is very mandatory,” read the letter.

Students are required to bring the original and a copy of the CNIC of their father or guardian to their schools. A health team will visit these schools to collect information, the letter said, asking them for cooperation in this regard.

COVID-19 increasing in Pakistan?

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday was informed that the coronavirus was spreading again as per the data collected over the last six weeks from across the country.

During a meeting of the National Coordination Committee on Covid-19, it was suggested that measures should be taken to limit all unnecessary activities, which were not related to certain basic requirements like economy and education in order to control the second wave of coronavirus.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar Tuesday stressed that implementation of precautionary measures is vital to ward off the possible second wave of novel coronavirus pandemic in the country.

This he said in a meeting of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC). The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Ijaz Shah, SAPM on Health Dr Faisal Sultan, and the chief secretaries of the provinces via video link.

The meeting was briefed that the government’s timely steps helped in curbing coronavirus cases and saving precious human lives. The NCOC was briefed that 3,497 coronavirus hotspots have been put under smart lockdown in 103 districts of the country.
