Swedish official in Islamabad was raped by her guard

Police say they have registered an FIR against the accused and taken him into custody.

A Swedish woman, who worked for an international organisation in Islamabad, has alleged that her security guard, deployed by a security company, raped her on Tuesday night.

The Aabpara police station has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused security guard deployed at the official’s residence in G-6/4 since March 11 and taken him into custody.

The complainant has been living in the federal capital since January 10.

According to the FIR, the guard entered her bedroom when she was asleep and overpowered her, and then raped her.

“I was asleep in my bedroom at around 11:30 pm when some noise woke me up, and I sensed someone’s presence in the room. Then someone attacked me from behind, but I couldn’t recognise who it was due to the dark,” the foreigner said in the FIR.

“He was a lot more powerful than me. He gagged my mouth with his hands, and I felt so suffocated that I could have died. He then raped me.”

She said she recognised the assaulter when she requested him to let her go to the washroom.

In another such incident, a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the Kahuta area on Tuesday night.

The incident came to light after the girl’s father informed police that she had gone missing from her house.

He said his daughter returned home at 5 am and told him that a suspect at an under-construction house raped her, adding that she managed to escape after the day broke.

According to Dawn, “City Police Officer Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari took notice of it and directed the police to arrest the suspect.”
