Last week on 27th April, DFSK Prince went to its Facebook page to announce the future arrival of the crossover plug-in hybrid by Huawei to Pakistan. According to the media, the car will land in Pakistan by the second quarter of 2022.
However, Pakwheels reported that Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK) is not stopping there. The second-largest carmaker in China is planning to bring two more SUVs to Pakistan’s newly established and highly popular crossover SUV market.
According to the national automobile news platform, Pakistan would be getting an electric SUV and the other one would be a petrol-powered SUV.
Among the two SUVs is Electric powered SERES S3, by the DFSK’s parent company Chongqing Sokon Industry Group, which also owns SERES. The second petrol-powered SUV is DFSK Glory Star.
SERES S3 (EV)
This EV crossover SUV will be launched in the local market in the third quarter (Q3) this year. According to the EV database, the car has a range of 270 according to the EV database, 405 according to New European Driving Cycle. According to Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure, the range is 320.
So we can assume it is somewhere between 270 and 320 KMs, which might be questionable for inter-city travel. It is worth mentioning that the actual range will depend on speed, style of driving, weather, and route conditions.
The international Model has 120 KW of power, with 300Nm Torque. It is a front-wheel-drive only. SUV does 0-100km/h in 8.9 seconds.
Furthermore, it will be a 5-seater vehicle. As per Pakwheels, the cost of this compact SUV will be around Rs5.5million (55-lacs).
DFSK Glory 580 Star Version
The second SUV would be the Star version of the Glory 580 that is already on the market. The car will reportedly come with a 1.5 Gdi engine with improved output. It is reported to have several new features like Lane Assistance, Blind Spot Detection, Front Car Collision Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control to name a few.
According to Pakwheels, this car would be a little expensive compared to S3 at around Rs5.8 to 6million.
It is worth mentioning that the Company hasn’t announced these cars publicly yet, and news is based on media reports.
