Upset for PTI as another MPA quits party

The idea of lawmakers from KPK leaving PTI is certainly alarming for the party.

In a major blow for PTI, MPA Engineer Mohammed Fahim Ahmad has announced his resignation from the party, claiming he can no longer work under the current leadership, the media reported.

According to the details, MPA Mohammed Fahim Ahmad – who won PK 72 constituency of Peshawar with over 15000 votes – expressed his disappointment, claiming that there is a contradiction between the words and actions of Chairman PTI Imran Khan.

Moreover, he accused that there is corruption in every department of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, and work on development projects was also stopped.

In addition to this, he claimed that there are more than 20 members of PTI who are in touch with him and may also leave the party when the time comes. He further said he only considers PTI leader and former Defence Minister Pervez Khattak as his leader and Imran Khan is not working for the country’s interest.

PTI is yet to release an official statement on the matter, however, Mohammed Fahim Ahmad is not the first lawmaker to quit the party in recent days.

Ex-minister quits PTI

Earlier, former provincial law minister Sultan Muhammad Khan quit PTI. The PTI leader from the Charsadda district of KP also announced joining the Awami National Party (ANP) on September 10. He decided to say goodbye to PTI after holding talks with ANP KP president Aimal Wali Khan.

“We will promote alliance and unity in the political families of the Charsadda. Sultan Muhammad Khan is our family and we convince other people for joining Awami National Party,” ANP president Aimal Khan said on the occasion. He said the ANP is following the golden principle of Bacha Khan for creating national unity among the people.

The idea of lawmakers from KPK leaving PTI is certainly alarming for the party. Pertinent to mention that there are rumours emerging of PTI lawmakers from Punjab also quitting the party. Chairman Imran Khan warned that there is a conspiracy being hatched to topple the PTI provincial government in Punjab.
