50 men arrested in case of attacking Hindu temple in Rahim Yar Khan

Recently, a temple in Rahim Yar Khan was attacked by a mob where several people demolished and vandalized the property. They also set the temple on fire. However, as per reports, Police have arrested the 50 men allegedly related to the attack.

The Government of Punjab has confirmed the arrest of nearly 50 men in the case related to the attack on the Hindu temple in Rahim Yar Khan on Saturday.

Focal Person for Digital Media to CM Punjab, Azhar Mashwani, shared the pictures of the arrested people on social media. District Police Officer Asad Sarfaraz Capt Zafar Iqbal Awan visited the area along with Bahawalpur RPO Zubair Dareshk.

Awan informed that the legal team has initiated the investigation in the case and actions were taken against the accused involved in the unrest at the temple in Bhong. Moreover, restoration work of the temple has been initiated. He assured full security to the Hindu community.

Mob attacking temple in Rahim Yar Khan

A video clip of a mob attacking a temple in Rahim Yar Khan had gone viral on social media where several people can be seen demolishing and vandalizing the property. They even set the temple on fire.

As per reports, the unfortunate event took place in village Bhong of Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday. The videos went viral as the incident was being live-streamed on Facebook.

Police and Rangers have taken control of the area and the intruders have been apprehended.

Dr. Rameesh Vankwani, a member of the National Assembly, tweeted the videos of the incident and points to the negligence by the police as shameful.

People from all over the country have condemned the attack and urged the Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Mr. Shahbaz Gill tweeted on the matter condemning the attack and acknowledging that the Prime Minister’s office has taken notice of the incident and has directed the district administration to look into the matter and take strict action against those involved in this crime.

He also said that Pakistan’s constituency provides the rights to the minorities to perform their religious worship freely.
