The upcoming Avengers film is one of the most anticipated films releasing in 2019. The film which has yet to release an official title is commonly referred to as Avengers 4 and will serve as the last time the Avengers will reunite, at least for a long while.
For a while now, fans have been predicting that time travel could be the only way the Avengers will defeat Thanos and this makes it seem even more likelier.
It also will be the continuation of the highly successful Avengers: Infinity War, picking up from where the movie ends. Because Infinity War saw many of the Earth’s mightiest heroes being snapped from existence, many believe that the remaining heroes would try to find a way to go back in time and stop that from happening and now new evidence has come to light which supports this theory.
For a while fans have claimed that the fourth (and possibly last?) Avengers movie will factor the use of time travel. The biggest evidence for this is that Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) is set to play a big part in the film, and considering the Captain Marvel film (which comes out next year months before Avengers 4) is set in the 1990’s, her reappearance seems to suggest that she will be time traveling from the past. This of course isn’t the first time Marvel has used this plot device. Captain America himself time traveled from 1945 to present day.

Now some new art by the film’s concept artist Pete Thompson strongly suggests that time travel will play a key role in the fourth Avengers flick.
Thompson’s art shows Thanos’s planet Titan which we know is destroyed in present day time. And because Thanos is in possession of the Time Stone it makes sense that he would save his own home by reversing time. This of course means that the events of the upcoming Avengers film won’t be as linear as we would have believed. For a while now, fans have been predicting that time travel could be the only way the Avengers will defeat Thanos and this makes it seem even more likelier.
Guess we will have to see Avengers 4 to be certain.
