Pakistani film star Shaan Shahid gave a passionate speech in Lahore late last night at Minar-e-Pakistan which is the venue for Imran Khan’s rally. Clips of the speech are going viral on social media.
During his speech, Shaan Shahid expressed support for Imran Khan and urged the crowd to do the same. Addressing the sizeable crowd already gathered ahead of the rally, Shaan Shahid hailed Imran Khan’s struggle for a sovereign Pakistan.
“Do not leave Khan’s side,” Shaan Shahid urged the crowd.
“I am proud to support a man who is fighting for Pakistan, fighting for freedom,” Shaan Shahid added, “He [Imran Khan] did not bow down, and neither will he let you!”

Shaan Shahid also said that he is not giving a speech to increase votes for Imran Khan, but is only supporting the struggle for Pakistan’s rights. Later, Shaan Shahid tweeted a clip from his speech and said,” I spoke my heart…for the love I have for my motherland. I’m a Pakistani that stands firm with the only hope for Pakistan.”

Netizens have appreciated Shaan Shahid for his speech. They believe that it is commendable of the actor to support Imran Khan despite knowing that such a political stance may have a negative impact on his acting career.
On the other hand, Shaan Shahid has been very vocal in his support for Imran Khan. Several Pakistani celebrities also have spoken in favor of Imran Khan.

Public stands with Imran Khan
Following his ouster as the prime minister, Imran Khan is making a strong comeback in politics as he holds public rallies across the country. His rallies in Peshawar, and later in Karachi, faced huge success as thousands came out to support him.
Images and videos from the rally went viral on social media. To clarify, the impressive rallies are a testament to Imran Khan’s power in pulling the public. Majority of the public continues to throw its weight behind Imran Khan. In fact, crowds gather at the venues before the rallies are set to take place. A similar situation was seen in Lahore.

The stage is set for the PTI rally in Lahore tonight at 9:00 pm. Pertinent to mention, the district administration has advised the former prime minister to use a bulletproof vehicle with a sunroof and windows shut to move to and from the venue of the rally, Minar-e-Pakistan.
