Actress turned Indian author Twinkle Khanna criticized UP’s CM Yogi Adityanath over his controversial remarks about women in the past.
During India Today Woman Summit and Awards, event’s host Koel Puri had asked Khanna about her take on Yogi Adityanath, who ‘did not have an amazing track record for his statements on women’, the reply from Twinkle Khanna was that he should do an asana which helps release gas!
Not the one to stop at that, she added that she believed he was also changing fashion. Twinkle summed it up stating ‘Orange is the new brown’.

Previously, Yogi Adityanath went on to warn of the inherent dangers in making women like men. Yogi said, ”If men acquire women-like qualities, they become gods but when women acquire men like qualities, they become (‘rakshasa’) demon like.” Explaining his take further he said, ”how the concept of women’s freedom of the western world is what is distracting the women here and it will hamper the creation and stability of the home and family and prevent the glorious rebuilding of the nation and motherland.”
In one of his articles, Yogi Adityanath references that women need male protection from birth to death and that they have an energy power (urja) that should be regulated or controlled, lest it winds up becoming worthless and destructive. Only ‘controlled’ power of women will foster the birth and rearing of great men.
Yogi Adityanath, recently became Chief Minister of India’s biggest state Uttar Pradesh, is notorious for his extreme views. During his speech in 2007, he said, Hindus should be ready for ‘inevitable religious war’ against Muslims as both can’t coexist. After winning the recent election in UP with big margin, BJP’s Adityanath gained domestic and international attention due to his controversial past.
