Arif, Qandeel’s brother was nominated in the FIR under 109 PPC and had escaped arrest for the last three years.

The police had sought the help of Interpol to arrest Arif. He was in telephonic contact with his brother Muhammad Waseem, the major accused; evidence was found from forensic report of Waseem’s mobile phone. Reportedly, Arif had urged Waseem to kill their sister Baloch.

On the other hand, mother of Baloch has said that Arif is innocent and Mufti Abdul Qavi had implicated her sons in murder case falsely. Qandeel was found dead in her house in Multan on July 16, 2016. She was killed by Waseem in the name of honour.

“Waseems’ bail has been cancelled by High Court twice however Mufti Qavi, Haq Nawaz (cousin) Abdul Basit (relative) Zafar (Haq nawaz relative) Aslam (brother) are out on bail. #NoHonorInKilling,” Dad added.

Waseem had fled the scene at the time of the murder but later recorded his statement in front of the magistrate. He has also confessed to his crime with the DNA and forensic reports confirming his involvement in the murder.
