CTD captures most wanted BLA terrorist in Sukkur

Since 2004, the BLA has waged a violent armed struggle against Pakistan for what it claims as self-determination for the Baloch people and the separation of Balochistan from Pakistan.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested a suspected terrorist associated with the banned outfit, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), in Sukkur.

According to the details, a raid was conducted at the SITE area in Sukkur where the “high-profile” terrorist belonging to BLA was arrested. The terrorist has been identified as Mir Hassan and the CTD personnel also recovered a pistol, bullets, and magazines from his possession.

Moreover, the BLA terrorist also confessed to having in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The BLA has been involved in terror attacks against the Pakistan Armed Forces, civilians, and foreign nationals. Back in April, BLA carried out a suicide attack in Karachi, targetting Chinese nationals.

Three Chinese language teachers and their driver were killed in the suicide bombing. The blast ripped through their minibus, injuring at least four others near the university’s Confucius Institute.

The separatist Baloch Liberation Army said it attacked the vehicle carrying the Chinese staff, and that the suicide bomber had been a woman. It was the first time a suicide attack by the BLA has been carried out by a female militant.

Since BLA is a security threat, Pakistan’s armed forces have been countering the terror group. Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism Department arrested a Balochistan Liberation Army terrorist in Naushahro Feroze.

The suspected terrorist – identified as Ghaffar Domkey –was arrested during a raid conducted by CTD Sukkur. The raiding team also recovered arms and ammunition from the arrested suspect’s possession.

During the interrogation, the arrested terrorist had confessed to being involved in anti-Pakistan activities along with two other accomplices – identified as Aziz Domkey and Mitha Khan Domkey.
