Danish Kaneria slammed for trolling Shahid Afridi

Danish Kaneria is receiving condemnation for disrespecting Shahid Afridi. Netizens called him out and recalled his alleged statement of admitting match-fixing.

Former cricketer Danish Kaneria is receiving flak on social media for trolling Shahid Afridi. Kaneria posted a picture of Shahid Afridi chewing the ball and wrote Chief Selector with a laughing emoji on his Twitter account.

Kaneria’s tweet came after new PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had appointed Shahid Afridi as the interim head of the selection committee. With the removal of Ramiz Raja, the entire administration of PCB has been changed.

Former cricketer Shahid Afridi has been appointed head of the selection committee for the ongoing New Zealand series. Danish Kaneria is receiving condemnation for disrespecting Shahid Afridi. Netizens called him out and recalled his alleged statement of admitting match-fixing. Kaneria was handed a lifetime ban in 2012 for the spot-fixing case. His post garnered a massive reaction on Twitter. Several celebrities came forward in support of Shahid Afridi.

Actor Fahad Mustafa calling him out said, “And he is not a fixer like you.” Many social media users said that Shahid Afridi is still better than Danish Kaneria because whatever he did was to make Pakistan win. Also, he was not involved in spot-fixing, said netizens. Others asked him to be mindful of his past before targeting others.

Earlier this year, Danish Kaneria had accused him of forcing him to accept Islam, adding that the cricketer mistreated him for being Hindu. Currently, Danish Kaneria is under ban for being involved in a spot-fixing case.

Shahid Afridi denied the allegations and said at that time, he was himself trying to understand religion. Afridi also questioned the character of Kaneria.

Shahid Afridi said that Danish Kaneria brought a bad name to the country and ended his career for being involved in a spot-fixing case. Afridi believes Kaneria is blaming him for gaining some cheap publicity. He also questioned the timings of the allegations leveled by Kaneria.
