Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt the first choices for Bollywood adaptation of new novel

Fawad Khan is likely to be cast in Bollywood producer’s Pankaj Dubey’s next movie that is the adaptation of his bestselling novel ‘Love Curry’. The producer says Alia Bhatt is his potential choice for the female lead.

The novel features three boys from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh that are facing issues of an identity crisis while living in London. Besides Fawad Khan, Sushant Singh is the producer’s choice for the Indian in the movie.

Fawad Khan has already worked with Alia Bhatt in ‘Kapoor and Sons’. However, he would be sharing the screen with Sushant Singh Rajpoot the first time.

“I have already started scripting the film and thinking about the casting. As the story is mainly about three boys from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, I want to cast Sushant, Fawad for the two of them.”

He further added that: “For the female lead, I think Alia can play the part. Let’s see how the casting goes.” Dubey launched the book on Friday night. Speaking to the press, Pankaj Dubey elaborated further on the plot of the story.

When asked what inspired him to bring the concept of identity struggle of South Asians within the Western countries. He said: “I lived in London for quite some time for my study and work. I have seen how people are narrating their story of identity struggle.”

“Though the time has changed drastically and thanks to the internet, people know that India is not a country of snake charmers anymore, there are snob people with disinterest and misconception regarding our culture.”

Pakistan, and Bangladesh that are facing issues of an identity crisis while living in London. Besides Fawad Khan, Sushant Singh is the producer’s choice for the Indian in the movie.

“But at the same time, I do not want to treat the issue with so much seriousness, rather [I] wanted to focus on how these three guys, who are otherwise fighting against each other as Indian and Pakistani unite as one in a western country,” Dubey concluded.
