FWO makes major progress on Lillah-Jhelum dual carriageway!

FWO is playing a remarkable role in ensuring the speedy completion of projects. Earlier, FWO uploaded a video showing the latest developments on the Lillah-Jhelum dual carriageway which will bring economic development to the region.

Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is once again ensuring excellence as it speeds up work on the Lillah-Jhelum dual carriageway (LJDC). The 128KM long road is on its way to completion within the stipulated time.

Earlier, FWO uploaded a video showing the latest developments in the project. As per the video, FWO has made steady progress on the road’s earthworks, grading, leveling, and embankment filling. This is indeed a major achievement as FWO has managed to make major progress in a short amount of time. To clarify, the project was inaugurated in November 2021 with PM Khan performing the groundbreaking.

Moreover, earlier this year, PM Khan ordered the completion of Lillah-Jhelum dual carriageway by March 2023. He directed the authorities concerned to finish phase one of the project — Lillah Interchange to Pind Dadan Khan and the second phase – Misri Morr to Bukhari Chowk by June this year. Furthermore, he instructed that the project will receive funds from Punjab’s development budget.

Important to note, work began on the Lillah-Jhelum dual carriageway to improve the road infrastructure network in the country. Costing Rs. 4.6B, LJDC will link Grand Trunk Road to the Motorway. As a result, it will provide prompt connectivity to motorway to the motorists of Kashmir, thus saving their time. Furthermore, the carriageway will bring economic development as well as create jobs in the area.

Needless to say, FWO is playing a remarkable role in ensuring speedy completion of the road. The organization continues to contribute to the country’s development.

FWO sustaining excellence

Ever since its inception in 1966, FWO has progressed to become one of Pakistan’s largest engineering and construction organizations. Over the years, FWO has gone on to work on hundreds of diverse projects across the country, from KKH to the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan.

Recently, FWO made major progress on the construction of Nasir Bagh Road (NBR). The 10 km road, with 5 bridges, is part of the Peshawar Beautification Plan. It will provide access to Regi Town and other private housing societies from University Road.

It will also be a direct link to Peshawar Northern Bypass which allows direct connection of Hayatabad, DHA Peshawar, Warsak Road, and Jamrud road to M-1 motorway, bypassing Peshawar city.  As per details, the project is slated to be completed by June 2022.
