Hira Mani trolled for speaking Siri-styled English in interview

The actress was seen discussing why she prefers to speak in Urdu and not in English. Hira posted the pictures with the interviewer and her husband, Mani.

Pakistani actress Hira Mani is being mocked after a short clip of her interview in English with BBC went viral on social media.

The actress was seen discussing why she prefers to speak in Urdu and not in English. Hira posted the pictures with the interviewer and her husband, Mani. She also posted some videos in which she is answering the questions.

She captioned her slideshow of a post, “It’s very rare for someone to do an interview in Urdu at the BBC Asian Network but I was one of the fortunate ones to be able to do this! Lots of love!” She went on to thank Mani for bestowing her with the confidence to do so, “Ye confidence Mani tumhara diya hua hai thanks. Forever.”

The style in which Hira Mani responded to the question of not speaking in English was mocked on social media. The actor answered half the question in English and the other half in Urdu.

The interviewer had asked if she would prefer to have the interview in English and Urdu. The actress answered ‘Urdu’. Hira then started speaking in English in a Siri-esque fashion. “I want to speak in English but you know I have a fan following, a lot, in my country, in Asian you know, I’m Asian.”

The actress is now being trolled for the sudden change in her accent while speaking English. A Twitter user commented, “This new Siri update sounds amazing.” Another commented, “She is talking in italics.” Of course, some were instantly reminded of Ahsan Khan’s accent too. “Is she also a British-Asian actor who works here and there as well?” asked a tweep.

A few days ago, the actress was subjected to criticism after a video of her concert in London went viral on social media. The video showed the audience despite her repeatedly urging them did not respond.
