Imran Khan accuses Mr. X & Mr. Y of rigging Punjab polls

Imran Khan, without revealing the actual names, claimed that ‘Mr. X’ has deployed ‘Mr. Y’ in Multan for rigging in the upcoming by-polls in Punjab.

PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again made claims of rigging in the upcoming Punjab polls on July 17. Imran Khan has claimed that “Mr. X” and “Mr.Y” are responsible for rigging in Punjab polls.

Currently, PTI and PML-N are gearing up for an intense political battle in Punjab. The polls are scheduled on 20 seats of the Punjab Assembly where PTI had won in the 2018 general elections and its MPAs had later defected to the PML-N and faced disqualification.

PPP has already expressed support for PML-N and decided to forgo its right on these seats. PPP will neither seek any seat adjustment with the PML-N nor field its candidates against these seats. Therefore, the competition is between PML-N and PTI who have neck and neck seats. However, PTI has already accused PML-N of rigging the elections on numerous occasions.

While addressing back-to-back rallies in Bhakkar and Layyah, Imran Khan, without revealing the actual names, claimed that ‘Mr. X’ has deployed ‘Mr. Y’ in Multan for rigging in the upcoming by-polls in Punjab.

New conspiracy?

Imran Khan accused a certain Mr. X of meeting PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

“Mr. X is in Lahore … we know what he has been up to,” Imran Khan said while referring to the mysterious person who is allegedly rigging elections on behalf of the PML-N.

In his Bhakkar rally, the PTI chief made similar rigging allegations, referring to a ‘Mr. Y’ who had been sent to Multan by ‘Mr. X’ – based in Lahore – to manipulate the upcoming by-elections.

“Mr. X, I have been told that you have sent Mr. Y to Multan to rig the by-election. Mr. X and Mr. Y, I challenge you that my nation will make you bite the dust and win the polls [on July 17] despite all attempts to manipulate them,” the ousted premier stated.

Needless to say, Mr. X and Mr. Y have risen a new conspiracy as journalists and netizens speculate about the identity of the mysterious figures.
