Imran Khan to hold third fund raising telethon on Sunday

Imran Khan, in a video statement, said that PTI is collecting donations for flood-affected people of the country and urged people to donate as much as they can for their fellow men. 

It seems like PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan is not slowing down as he announces a third telethon to raise funds for the victims of Pakistan’s recent floods which caused a lot of devastation.

According to the details, the third telethon will be held on Sunday at 9 pm and will also be three hours long. Extra phone lines have been added so more people can call and donate to the flood affectees.

Imran Khan, in a video statement, said that PTI is collecting donations for flood-affected people of the country and urged people to donate as much as they can for their fellow men.

The recent spell of monsoon in Pakistan was the worst in over a decade. Many districts in Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, and KPK faced flash floods, leading to severe destruction and displacement of over 33 million people while killing 1400.

As a result of the dire situation, the Pakistani nation, along with the international community has come together to provide relief goods to the flood victims.

Flood telethons raise Rs. 10 billion

PTI played its part by holding two international fundraising telethons for the flood victims. The first telethon raised over Rs5 billion in donations in just 3 hours long flood telethon, and so far, over Rs3 billion have been collected, and more continues to be collected.

The second telethon raised Rs 5.2 billion in two hours, as revealed by Imran Khan. Interestingly, Imran Khan claimed that the government tried to block his second telethon. Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan revealed that the TV channels were pressurized not to air the telethon.

“Imported government of cabal of crooks and their handlers stooped to new lows last night when they tried to blackout my telethon for flood relief fundraising. First, they pressured channels not to air the telethon. When some channels continued to air the telethon they threatened cable operators,” Imran Khan said.

Nevertheless, both telethons were still a huge success as people from within the country and abroad donated huge amounts towards PTI’s flood relief operations.
