India to host 71st Miss World Final after 30 years

The renowned beauty pageant, last held in India in 1996, will bring together contestants from more than 130 countries.

India will host the 71st Miss World Final, marking a significant comeback after almost 30 years. The renowned beauty pageant, last held in India in 1996, will bring together contestants from more than 130 countries.

They will be able to demonstrate their exceptional talents, intelligence, and compassion through a series of challenging competitions.

The decision has brought immense joy to Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organisation. “I am delighted to announce India as the new home of the 71st Miss World Final! I have had a great affection for India from the first moment I visited this incredible country more than 30 years ago! We cannot wait to share your unique and diverse culture, world-class attractions, and breathtaking locations with the rest of the world,” said Julia Morley.

While the exact date for the grand finale is still to be disclosed, it is anticipated to occur in either November or December. The Miss World Festival will encompass a month-long celebration comprising various rounds to select the finalists, culminating in the crowning of the next Miss World.

The announcement follows the initial decision to host the pageant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Initially, Julia Morley had confirmed the UAE as the 2023 Miss World competition location. However, a change in plans has now brought this esteemed event back to India’s vibrant and culturally rich country.
