ISPR Director Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry Promoted to Lieutenant General

The other two officers promoted to lieutenant general are Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain.

Three major generals from the Pakistan Army, including Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, who serves as the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), have been elevated to the rank of lieutenant general, as reported by The News on Saturday.

The other two officers promoted to lieutenant general are Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain.

The appointments to their new ranks were made by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, though there hasn’t been an official announcement of the promotions.

Despite their promotions, Lt Gen Chaudhry will continue his current role as DG ISPR, while Lt Gen Omer Bukhari will now assume the position of Commander 11 Corps in Peshawar, and Lt Gen Hussain will take on the role of chief of logistics services at GHQ.

Lt Gen Bukhari, who was part of the 84th Long Course, received the Sword of Honour. On the other hand, Lt Gen Hussain, hailing from Hunza, has been honored with the presidential gold medal.

Before their elevation to lieutenant general, both were serving as vice chiefs of the general staff at GHQ.
