Khadija Shah wins award by HRCP on International Women’s Day

At an event on Thursday, she was hailed for her sacrifices and continued stance for her rights and women's empowerment. While receiving the award, Khadija Shah delivered a powerful and heartwarming speech.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has awarded Pakistani fashion designer Khadija Shah in recognition of her sacrifices on International Women’s Day.

At an event on Thursday, she was hailed for her sacrifices and continued stance for her rights and women’s empowerment. While receiving the award, Khadija Shah delivered a powerful and heartwarming speech.

In her speech, she encouraged women to continue to strive for their rights and never back down in the face of tyranny. Shah said that change is not an overnight process but a slow one that will eventually come.

The celebrated designer also hailed the high women participation in the recent general elections. Shah expressed her gratitude for receiving the award. Once again reiterated her support for human rights and women’s empowerment.

Rehana Dar, the PTI candidate from Sialkot who fought against Khawaja Asif, was also present at the event. Taking to her Instagram, Khadija Shah shamed Khawaja Asif and hailed the struggle and fight of Rehana Dar against him.

She called Rehana Dar her inspiration and expressed her wish to be like her. Rehana Dar is being celebrated and praised for fighting against Khawaja Asif when her sons Usman Dar and Umar Dar were arrested.

Shah further wrote that while talking to her Rehana Dar cried while telling her how she was made to lose to elections.

According to Tayyaba Raja another released PTI activist in her recent interview revealed that Khadija Shah during her captivity was kept with convicted female prisoners.

Designer Khadija Shah had surrendered to Punjab Police days after evading arrest on the May 9th protests last year.

Shah, a famous designer, and creator of fashion brand Elan, was a prime suspect in the attacks on Jinnah House Commander in Lahore following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by NAB.
