KPK’s second international cricket stadium nears completion

The construction work on the Hayatabad Cricket Stadium is in its final stages. The stadium will be completed this year. 

The Hayatabad Cricket Stadium is speeding toward completion, giving the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) its second international standard cricket stadium.

According to the details, PTI – which is in governance in KPK – revealed that the construction work on the Hayatabad Cricket Stadium is in its final stages. The stadium will be completed this year.

“Paving the way to host international cricket in KP, construction work on the second international cricket stadium in the province is in the final stages and will be completed this year. After Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, Hayatabad Cricket Stadium will be the second international cricket stadium in the province,” PTI tweeted while sharing pictures of the stadium in its various stages of completion.

Providing the best sports facilities in KPK

During its tenure, the PTI government led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan – a renowned cricketer – remained committed to providing the best possible sporting facilities to the youth.

Imran Khan has always been of the view that sports bring positive changes in society besides providing an environment for healthy competition and has expressed his resolve to promote sports events at the grassroots level to exploit the true potential of the youth.

Keeping in line with Imran Khan’s vision, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan continues to work towards providing better sports facilities. The KPK provincial government is working under an integrated strategy to provide playgrounds and other allied facilities at the district, tehsil and union council level and work on various projects is underway for this purpose.

Various projects for the promotion of sports in the province include ongoing work on Arbab Niaz and Hayatabad Cricket Stadium, Kalam Cricket Stadium, up-gradation of Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar, indoor Gymnasium District Buner, District Government land for Tank Sports Complex and construction work on it, tehsil level playground on a need basis, the establishment of an international standard indoor gymnasium in Abbottabad, construction of Sports Complex in Rustam Tehsil, the establishment of Squash Courts, Swat Sports Complex
