Namibia captain wants to play PSL for free after Kamran Akmal shows anger

Kamran Akmal had decided not to play PSL 2022 after being picked in the lower category by his team Peshawar Zalmi. The player was moved down from the Diamond to Gold category by PCB. Reacting to this, Gerhard Erasmus, expressed his wish to play the PSL.

Captain of Namibia Cricket Team, Gerhard Erasmus, has expressed his wish to play Pakistan Super League (PSL) for free after cricketer Kamran Akmal stepped down.

Kamran Akmal had decided not to play PSL 2022 after being picked in the lower category by his team Peshawar Zalmi. The player was moved down from the Diamond to Gold category by PCB. He was eventually the last pick by Peshawar Zalmi.

Talking to the media, Akmal said it was a ‘humiliation’ for him and revealed that he would not play the tournament. “If it has to end like this, so be it, but I am not going to play with such humiliation”, he said. “This is an embarrassment. You don’t treat a player like this. With all the runs I have scored in the league, I deserve better.”

The renowned sports media outlet, ESPN, had shared the quotes of Kamran Akmal on social media. “Pick me, I’ll be there for free”, wrote Erasmus on Twitter. Meanwhile, cricket Maxwell O’Dowd, a cricketer from the Netherlands, also commented on the post. While retweeting the story, he wrote: “Up for a swap!? I’ll gladly play.”

Pakistan’s cricket team wins the heart of cricket fans around the world with a brilliant show of sportsmanship after defeating Namibia by 45 runs on Tuesday in a T20 World Cup match.

Few players including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Muhammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, Hassan Ali, Fakhar Zaman went to meet the Namibia cricket team in their dressing room. The team was having dinner when they entered their dressing room. Pakistan cricket team appreciated the game played by Namibia and their efforts in supporting the game of cricket.

The team manager congratulated Namibia for putting up an excellent cricket and giving them a tough competition. Pakistani players also applauded the talent of Namibian cricketers. The players embraced each other and exchanged pleasantries. The video instantly went viral as Pakistani cricket fans showered the team with praise for executing a great sportsman spirit.
