Muhammad Khan, the father of murdered young man from South Waziristan, Naqeebullah Mehsud, warned all political parties against using his son’s name for furthering their own vested interests.

In a video message released on Sunday, Naqeebullah’s father stressed that those using his son’s name to malign Pakistani institutions, specifically the Pakistan Army, are in fact enemies of the entire country.

Asfandyar Bhittani, political analyst, urged the state to take action and crush TTP-PTM miscreants as opposed to considering talks or peace deal.

He said, “I have not allowed any party to do so. I specifically warned all political parties against using my son’s name for their malignant purposes, and those who do that are not our friends and supporters”.

Praising the efforts of the Pakistan Army in eradicating terrorism and establishing peace, Muhammad Khan noted, “Peace has been fully restored across the region and the Pakistan Army is closely cooperating with us (tribal people).”

Naqeebullah’s Father Rejects Anti-State Narratives

Rejecting anti-state slogans raised by PTM leaders, Naqeebullah’s father stressed that the people of Waziristan support the presence of the Pakistan Army in the tribal districts, and appreciate the army’s efforts of facilitating progress and uplifting people across the war-torn region.

Naqeebullah’s father stressed that those using his son’s name to malign Pakistani institutions, specifically the Pakistan Army, are in fact enemies of the entire country.

He said, “Raising voice and protesting must be within the boundaries laid out by the law and constitution, but maligning the country itself and its armed forces does not benefit anyone across Pakistan”. Mohammad Khan stressed, “Pakistan belongs to everyone not just a party, group or one individual.”

Responding to the ongoing propaganda instigated by the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) against the armed forces and other state institutions, Naqeebullah’s father firmly stated that his son’s murder will not be used as a pretext by foreign facilitators and their stooges.

Naqeebullah’s father urged the PTM leadership to abandon their foreign-funded agendas and join hands with the Pakistan army and government to work towards the progress and prosperity of the tribal districts. “It is a time for progress”, he underscored. On 13th January 2018, South Waziristan youth Naqeebullah Mehsud was shot dead in an alleged encounter staged by former SSP Malir Rao Anwar in Karachi.

Presently, Anwar is facing trial conducted by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). Naqeebullah’s father firmly warned that no party or individual is allowed to collect funds using his son’s name, and reiterated his faith in the country’s judicial system. Express Tribune cited his remarks, “I fully believe in the courts and judicial system of the country and I appeal all political parties to refrain from using my son’s case for vested interest”.

Mohammad Khan stressed, “Pakistan belongs to everyone not just a party, group or one individual.”

Muhammad Khan added that while people across Pakistan struggle to receive justice for many years, he is satisfied that his son’s case has made significant progress within one year.

PTM’s Foreign Funded Agendas

National security analysts and politicians, alongside concerned citizens, have repeatedly raised the issue of PTM’s foreign-funded agendas, accusing the anti-state group for being on the payroll of foreign powers working to malign the civil and military institutions of Pakistan.

Shahid Raza, Editor Defense & Strategic Affairs at Global Village Space, shed light on the “dichotomy of the narrative” demonstrated by the PTM leadership. Raza tweeted, “PTM itself is built on propaganda. It’s very narrative is a recycled, secularized version of TTP narrative.”

He added, “The leaders of PTM were begging for drone strikes and military action. If you don’t see a dichotomy of narrative there, than i can’t help but feel sorry for you.”

It’s time for state to show its resolve & charge & try them for rebellion, hate speech, terrorism & treason. Another peace deal or talks will only delay the inevitable.”
