Old video of Babar Azam gifting his bat to Travis Head surfaces online

Pakistani social media users and fans reposted an old video in an attempt to take a dig at Indian fans after being defeated by Australia. Hence, Pakistani fans credited Babar Azam for Australia's win over India.

An old video of former skipper Babar Azam gifting his bat to Australian batter Travis Head went viral on social media soon after Australia defeated India in the World Cup final 2023.

Travis Head led Australia to victory over India with his smashing innings of 163 runs. With Australia 3 down on 47 runs, it was Head who clinched victory for Australia taking his team to World Cup glory.

Video that surfaced online showed Babar Azam gifting his bat to Head during a meet-up in the dressing room. The video emerged after the discussion started on the bat with which Head played a significant knock.

Pakistani fans gave credit to Babar Azam for gifting his bat through which Head presumably scored tons.  Azam had apparently gifted his bat to Head during their 2021/22 tour to Pakistan.

One user said,“Today, I played with the bat that was gifted to me by Babar Azam. He texted me last night saying to smash the Indians in the final. Cheers to Bobby.”

However, Pakistan is set to tour Australia to play a three-test series against Australia starting on December 14th, 2023.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the squad with Shan Masood at the helm. Pakistan Cricket Team and management have undergone massive changes in the past few days following the exit of Pakistan from the ICC World Cup 2023.

Babar Azam relinquished captaincy from all formats last week. Meanwhile, Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi have replaced him as captains of the Test and T20 formats. The board is yet to announce the captain for ODI format.
