Sherry Rehman, Pakistan People’s Party Senator lambasted national carrier Pakistan International Airways for body shaming its cabin crew members. Rehman was infuriated by the strict standards of physicality for cabin crew members set by PIA.
She in her tweet criticized PIA and asked them to focus more on its quality of service and operations rather than applying complete authority on the waistline of the female crew members. She also stated to raise the issue in front of the Civil Aviation Committee.
Pakistan International Airlines stated that they issued a stern notice after they received complaints from the passenger regarding the ‘obese’ flight attendants.

Earlier, this month PIA had issued a notice to its staff pertaining to their weight and height. The notice also warned that members found beyond the required BMI will be offloaded. Such members will then have to report to the fitness center to tone their weight.

While some users agreed with Rehman others argued with her and highlighted that PIA had not in particular asked female members but cabin crew as a whole, negating the sexism comment Rehman made.
It is not specific to gender though.. Shame on you.. as your party is the main culprit behind this everlasting disaster in PIA.. whenever someone takes courage to introduce some changes within the structure of PIA, Peoples Party starts playing the politics.

This is not sexism, don’t bring stupid issues to sente, be positive and debate big and policy issues, Not weight and sizes of female flt attendants, it’s their humiliation.

They said the optimal body weight and fitness are necessary for the crew members on long flights that require them to be active and quick while attending the passengers.
Please do some research on international standard requirements for cabin crew too before taking it further. A lot of airlines seems to apply strict BMI restrictions on cabin crew.
