PML-N’s Electoral Boost: PTI Candidate Supports Maryam Nawaz

With election campaigns in full swing, PML-N and PPP are striving to secure victory in the February 8 vote, eyeing the premier’s office.

In a significant move ahead of the nationwide polls, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Mehr Muhammad Waseem has announced the withdrawal of his candidacy in favor of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz for Lahore’s NA-119. With election campaigns in full swing, PML-N and PPP are striving to secure victory in the February 8 vote, eyeing the premier’s office.

During a meeting attended by prominent PML-N leaders, Mehr declared his withdrawal and allegiance to PML-N, pledging support along with his followers. The move is seen as a breakthrough for PML-N. Maryam welcomed Mehr and his supporters, emphasizing the growing momentum for PML-N.

In another setback for PPP in Lahore, key local office bearers and loyalists joined PML-N. Maryam asserted that more individuals are joining PML-N for the country’s progress after suffering consequences under ineligible rulers from 2018 to 2022. She highlighted the distinction between politicians serving the nation and those driven by political vendettas, asserting that only Nawaz, Shehbaz, and PML-N workers have emerged victorious.

Maryam unveiled PML-N’s comprehensive plan for national service if elected to power. Launching electioneering, she addressed campaigners in NA-119, expressing her commitment to take responsibility for every family in her constituency. Maryam announced plans to meet voters in Lahore’s NA-119 on January 25, marking a significant step in the party’s election strategy.
