Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) was invited by Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Chairperson of Environment Social & Governance (ESG) task force to attend the seminar on ‘ESG integration into Investing’ jointly hosted by CFA Society Pakistan and Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) at the PSX Auditorium, Karachi.
The session highlighted ESG related initiatives, integration into the business (investment process), and consequent long-term risk-adjusted returns, in line with the ESG principles.
FFC is among the top stock blue-chip companies honored by PSX as a member of ESG Task Force. Syed Imran Rizvi, Head of Shares Department represented FFC on the occasion. He proposed the implementation of the newly integrated ESG code for listed companies and the design of the ESG index on the basis of Free Float Market Capitalization, in line with KSE 100 index.

Important to note, FFC has been recognized by PSX as first amongst the Top 25 Companies consecutively for 10 years attributed to its Compliance of Code of Corporate Governance, Company Performance, and Efficient Management.

Major achievement for FFC
Earlier, in another achievement for FFC has been appreciated by the Central Depository Company (CDC) for the earliest announcement of book closure within 15 days of approval of third interim dividend by the Board of Directors and subsequent fastest electronic disbursement of dividend into shareholders’ accounts on the 8th day, after the start of book closure. Thus, achieving compliance well before the deadlines as per SECP directives.
In a meeting with high officials of CDC, Mr. Imran Rizvi, Head of Shares Department FFC acknowledged that it was the joint teams’ effort of CDC Share Registrar (CDCSR), FFC, and AKBL – the designated bank of FFC, which made this distinct achievement possible by creating a new milestone in corporate history.
Important to note, due to FFC’s remarkable performance, it has won numerous awards. In November, the company won the Best Corporate Excellence Award in Fertilizer Sector for the seventh consecutive year as adjudged by the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP).
