Punjab Nahi Jaungi has become the highest grossing Pakistani film ever. The movie starred heavy-weights like Mehwish Hayat, Humayun Saeed and Urwa Hocane in its lead cast.
The movie has earned a worldwide amount of Rs.50 million in the first quarter after its release. Analysts say the profits earned from the movie has surpassed Humayun’s previous venture ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani”.
It is great to see the Pakistani film industry booming. With huge successes like this and the other big film of last year “Na Maloom Afraad 2”, the Pakistani film scene seems to be on the rise.
Both Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat took to social media and congratulated the team for the tremendous success of the movie. The actors shared their thoughts on the overwhelming success of the movie on their social media accounts. A sentence from Saeed’s post said: “Punjab Nahi Jaungi has managed to capture hearts of a larger audience across the world and has emerged as a true winner’.

He went on to say, “The unprecedented success it has achieved in such a short period of time is certainly beyond our expectations. Whether its Norway or Canada, the US, the UK or Qatar or UAE, Punjab Nahi Jaungi has been running house full and continues to shatter records in spite of tough competition from several big budgets and multi-starrer international films.”

Mehwish Hayat too justified her selection for the role of Amal, a modern girl from abroad. Apart from the comedy, and the magnetic performances of the actors, the strong plot of the movie too touched the audiences.
