Sher Afzal Marwat of PTI arrested outside the Lahore High Court

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan condemned the arrest. Marwat had faced a brief detention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Batkhela city a week earlier, a situation the police had initially denied.

On Thursday, police apprehended Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) under Section 3 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, according to sources.

The PTI confirmed the arrest and accused those in power of being “worried,” citing the incident as evidence of lawlessness and an attempt to evade elections. The party demanded Marwat’s immediate release, emphasizing that such arrests would not deter them from their pursuit of “Haqeeqi azadi” (true freedom).
