Sophie Turner Praises Taylor Swift, Opens up about divorce and motherhood

In a candid interview with British Vogue published Wednesday, the "Game of Thrones" star described the aftermath of her split from Jonas as "the worst few days of my life" and highlighted Swift's role in helping her through it.

Sophie Turner is moving forward after her marriage to Joe Jonas and expressing gratitude for Taylor Swift’s support.

In a candid interview with British Vogue published Wednesday, the “Game of Thrones” star described the aftermath of her split from Jonas as “the worst few days of my life” and highlighted Swift’s role in helping her through it.

“Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year,” Turner said. “I’ve never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me in, providing us with a home and a safe space. She truly has a heart of gold.”

Amid Turner’s separation from Jonas, Swift offered her home to Turner and her daughters, Willa, 3, and her second daughter, born in July 2022, whose name remains private. Swift and Jonas had a brief relationship in 2008.

Turner also addressed rumors about her partying and “mom guilt” following tabloid reports suggesting she was an absentee mother.

“I remember being on set and contracted to stay for another two weeks, unable to leave. My kids were in the States, and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish ‘Joan,'” Turner said, referring to her upcoming British crime series.

Reports from TMZ and other tabloids about her alleged partying hurt her deeply. “It hurt because I torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mom guilt is so real! I had to keep reminding myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mom, and you’ve never been a partier.'”

Turner also discussed the legal battle with Jonas, whom she sued for the return of their daughters to England. She admitted to struggling during this period. “Some days, I didn’t know if I was going to make it. I would call my lawyer saying, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t.’ But my lawyer reminded me that I was fighting for my children,” Turner told Vogue.

Reflecting on becoming a mother at 24, Turner recalled asking Jonas, “What do you think we should do? Do you think we should have it?” after throwing a pregnancy test at him. “When you’re in your early 20s, life is so frivolous,” she added.

Despite the public nature of their split, Turner is hopeful about co-parenting with Jonas. “I’m unhappy with how everything played out, especially regarding my children. They’re the victims in all of this. But I think we’re doing the best we can,” she said. “I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children, and that’s all that I can ask for.”
