Video Surfaces of Pakistani Fans Cleaning the Stands Post Match

A video surfaced on the internet showing a bunch of young Pakistani boys, sporting their Pakistan cricket team jersey, cleaning the stands of the stadium after Pakistan beat New Zealand on Wednesday. The netizens lauded the boys for living up to their civic duties to ensure cleanliness and a safe environment, painting a bright picture of Pakistanis in front of the world.

Several fans stayed back after the match and were seen collecting trash from the stands, thus, setting an example for the ones who litter. The humanitarian gesture of the Pakistani boys has reinvigorated the image of Pakistan which was tainted after the excessive sneering by fans against the Pakistani cricket team.

The fans were trolled on social media and even became subject to memes for their impulsive reactions against the players.

Pakistani fans were extremely disgruntled after the team lost a match against India in the ongoing ICC World Cup. Severely slamming the team and went as far as harassing the skipper and captain, Sarfraz Ahmed, as one Pakistani fan chased and jeered at him for his fitness and physique at a shopping mall in London.

The Pakistan cricket team faced consecutive losses at the beginning of the ICC World Cup. Fans lost their cool after the team suffered a humiliating defeat against West Indies and India.

Even Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis star and wife of Shoaib Malik, was subjected to derisive comments when she was spotted along with a few Pakistani players enjoying the night out at a Sheesha club in London, ahead of the anticipated India-Pakistan match.

Skipper Sarfraz, however, believes that Pakistani fans are passionate about cricket and expressed his gratitude for how much they support the team and players.

The team gave back to their fans through vigorous training and proved themselves against odds by defeating the undefeated Kiwis and then Afghanistan, making their way up to the top four in the table.
