Worshippers in a mosque in Peshawar protested against the Imam Masjid for passing hateful comments against former Prime Minister Imran Khan during a Friday sermon.
According to reports, Imam Masjid called Imran Khan a ‘Jewish Agent’ and cursed him during the incident of Masjid-e-Nabvi. The attendees in the mosque did not say ‘Ameen’ despite him asking the people to say it while leading the prayers. He then cursed the worshippers who refused to say ‘Ameen’.
The comments of Imam Masjid angered the worshippers. They protested and refused to pray behind him. Heavy contingents of Police arrived at the spot. Protestors demanded to replace Imam Masjid.
The police had to intervene and the protestors in the mosque were requested to leave with the assurance of the administrative committee of the mosque that the Imam will be removed. (Not sharing the video because it may escalate further)

JUI-F’s political agenda?
The video of the incident circulated on social media with people protesting for using religion to vilify the nemesis. A Twitter user claimed that the Imam Masjid belongs to JUI-F and that he used the sacred platform to instigate people against Imran Khan. However, no such thing has been verified regarding the political association of Imam Masjid.

Similar unconfirmed incidents have been reported at other mosques too, where worshippers protested against Imam Masjid cursing Imran Khan. Twitter users believe that mosques or religion should not be used to incite hate and further division in society.

Meanwhile, PTI leaders including Imran Khan have condemned the incident at the sacred Holy Prophet’s Mosque in Madina. The government delegation was heckled and mistreated by the protestors at Holy Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
The videos of the government delegation circulated on social media last night triggered a massive reaction from Pakistani social media users. A mammoth of condemnation poured in from the supporters of every party on Twitter. The members of the coalition government claim it was a planned attack by the PTI leadership on the government delegation.
The incident has been trending on social media. Social media users are protesting against the mayhem created at the Holy Prophet’s mosque.
