14 soldiers martyred in Balochistan: Who was behind the attack?

14 security officials, including seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, have been martyred in a terrorist attack in Balochistan’s Gwadar district on Thursday. In May 2020, 7 soldiers were martyred in two separate incidents in Balochistan. How is behind these attacks?

In another terrorist attack, 14 security officials, including seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel have been martyred in a terrorist attack in Balochistan’s Gwadar district on Thursday, ARY News reported, citing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Some sources claim that the attack was carried out by the Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS).

Notably, in May 2020, 7 soldiers were martyred in two separate incidents in Balochistan. In the first incident, six personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) including a junior commissioned officer (JCO) were martyred when their vehicle hit a landmine in Balochistan, said the military’s media wing. In the second incident, sepoy Imdad Ali was martyred in an exchange of fire in Kech, Balochistan. The attacks have reportedly been carried out by Baloch terrorists.

According to the military’s media wing, the security personnel were escorting a convey of Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) from Gwadar to Karachi when a large number of terrorists ambushed the convoy near Ormara on Coastal Highway.

The security personnel responded effectively and ensured the security of the OGDCL persons and managed their safe exit from the area. During the encounter, seven FC personnel and seven security guards embraced martyrdom, ISPR said, adding that substantial losses were also incurred to the terrorists.

Following the clash, security forces cordoned off the complete area and launched a search operation to apprehend the terrorists. “Such Cowardly acts by inimical elements to sabotage peace, stability and economic development in Balochistan shall never be allowed to succeed,” said the military’s media wing.

GVS learned through reliable sources that as India is facing international humiliation due to its hawkish occupied Kashmir policy, it is now trying to destabilize Pakistan through supporting Baloch terrorists.

Recently, a clip from an Indian talk show has gone viral following the incident. During the talk show, a retired major of the Indian Army Gaurav Arya openly hurled threats at Pakistan and predicted a terror incident in Balochistan ‘in 10-15 days’.

India sponsors terrorism in Pakistan

India needs to stop sponsoring terrorism against Pakistan, said Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Division Dr Moeed Yusuf in his first interview with an Indian news outlet conducted by India’s renowned journalist Karan Thapar.

Taking an aggressive approach towards Indian sponsored terrorism in Pakistan, the SAPM revealed new details about millions of dollars in payments made to TTP leadership by RAW officer through Indian Embassy funds. He said Pakistan knows the names and ranks of officers in touch with terror leadership and will soon reveal Indian activities to the world through a detailed dossier based on lengthy investigations. He also revealed that India has financed anti-Pakistan terrorist groups and supported their merger with the TTP earlier this year.

For the first time, Dr Moeed Yusuf also blamed India for sponsoring the heinous Army Public School Peshawar attack in which over 100 innocent children lost their lives. He said Pakistan has record of eight phone calls made from India to TTP commander before the attack. He added that Indian intelligence handlers based in a neighboring country have directed attacks on the Chinese consulate in Karachi, Pearl Continental hotel in Gwadar and the Pakistan Stock Exchange attack in the last two years. He also revealed how the Baloch Liberation Army terrorists were receiving treatment in a hospital in New Delhi.

Indian serving commander arrested

Four years ago, Pakistan arrested Kulbhushan Yadav, who is serving the naval office of India, for destabilizing Pakistan through sponsoring Baloch terrorists. In a video, Commander Kulbhushan Yadav, while admitting his role in terror-related activities in Pakistan has said; “My purpose was to hold meetings with the Baloch insurgents and carry out activities with their collaboration. These activities have been of criminal nature, leading to the killing of or maiming of Pakistani citizens.”
