6th Gen Honda City 2021 comparison with Changan Alsvin

This article is about pegging a new entrant and an old much accepted and loved sedan together, and comparing the features offered by both companies in their top trim models.

The recent years have been quite good for the auto industry of Pakistan. With new 17 new entrants in the last three years alone, the outgoing auto policy has brought some good players for the industry, while the big four have done well nevertheless.

So, let us peg the new 6th generation Honda City against the Chinese Changan Alsvin, which has been doing great in the local market.

The comparison would be between Changan Alsvin Lumiere and Honda City Aspire 6th generation, the top trims of both vehicles.

So, let’s compare,

Engine

The Changan Alsvin has a 1480cc engine, producing 105hp and 145Nm Torque, meanwhile, the 6th generation aspire will come with 1.5 liters i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum of 118 horsepower at 6600 RPM and a 145 Nm torque @ 4600 RPM.

Transmission

The Changan’s Sedan has 5-Speed Auto Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) while the sixth-generation Honda City has a seven-speed automatic and manual transmission, depending upon the car choice.

Infotainment System

Changan has a 7-inch infotainment system, meanwhile, Honda’s sedan has eight inches touch screen that is compatible with Honda Connect, Android Auto, and Apple Car play interface.

Airbags

Honda City Aspire has not had any airbags up till now, although with the new Auto Policy and the government’s signing of UN’s WP29 regulations, they may become a reality. On the other hand, Changan’s Alsvin features two airbags.

Cruise Control

Changan offers cruise control, a major feature that every sedan should have. On the other hand, until now, Honda has not had this feature in their cars. However, according to different car blogs, the sixth generation Honda city would offer cruise control to the drivers.

Other Safety features 

While Alsvin offers features like a rear camera, parking sensors, tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic stability control, and Hill Assist, the new improved city, also offers Hill-Start Assist, Traction control, EBD, and Vehicle Stability Control.

Headlights

The Chinese sedan has Adjustable Halogen Front Lamps, while City Aspire comes with simple Halogen Lamps.

Fog Lamps

This feature is missing in the Chinese Sedan while the Japanese auto company offers it.

And lastly, the price

The Changan’s Alsvin is around Rs2.65 million in Pakistan, and the Honda’s City Aspire is around Rs2.69 million.
