On Wednesday, PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) has become the world’s second organization to be awarded Full Enterprise Accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI).

To clarify, the JCI is a USA-based leader in accrediting healthcare quality and patient safety in hospitals across the world. As a result of this accreditation, patients are assured that they will receive the best care possible under international standards.
According to the details revealed by SKMCH Chairman Imran Khan, the JCI’s gold seal of approval was achieved after three intense weeks of conducting surveys. The process involved a close evaluation of administrative, clinical, and operational domains.
After the evaluation, all Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer hospitals in Lahore and Peshawar, including diagnostic centers in Karachi and Lahore, were awarded Full Enterprise Accreditation by JCI.
