Adnan Siddiqui meets British High Commissioner to promote Pak-UK ties

Siddiqui said that both the countries are looking forward to expanding ties not just in sports but in the education and entertainment industry as well.

Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui is keen to promote Pak-UK cultural ties. Earlier this week, he met the British High Commissioner Christian Turner, to discuss a collaboration between UK and Pakistan.

The actor shared the pictures from the meeting on his social media accounts. Siddiqui said that both the countries are looking forward to expanding ties, not just in sports but, in the education and entertainment industry as well.

“In these times of global inclusivity, the world is an oyster in every sense of the word. I firmly believe that cross-cultural exchange across all fields will shape the new order of diplomacy,” wrote actor on social media.

“In a meeting with Dr. Christian Turner, British High Commissioner, this observation was underscored as we talked about the renewed impetus to Pakistan-England ties through education, entertainment, and cricket.”

“Thank you, Mr. Turner. It was an honor to share tea and ideas with you. May our friendship grow personally and diplomatically. Thank you Ms. Younis for making this happen,” he added.

British High Commissioner Turner also shared some pictures on his social media account. “Bohat maza aya to meet the talented Adnan Siddiqui and Ammara Hikmat,” he said on the official page. “Pakistani TV and films attract a big following in the United Kingdom — working to boost the industry and #UKPakDosti.”

Ammara Hikmat is the producer of the Pakistani movie ‘Legend of Maula Jatt’. Hikmat also shared a selfie with the British High Commissioner on social media.

 

The Pakistani actor is working actively off-screen to promote the country’s content globally. Siddiqui, in collaboration with another powerful actor of Pakistan, Humayun Saeed, is also working on a historical series- Turk Lala, which will be jointly produced by Pakistan and Turkey.
