Anger outpours as Atta Tarar warns of violent reaction if called ‘lota’

Anger outpours on social media after Atta Tarar of PMLN warned the public of violent reaction if called ‘lota’ or heckled, criticized, and trolled.

In his press conference on Wednesday, Tarrar warned of grave consequences for anybody who raises slogans against the members of the ruling party.

Referring to the incident that took place in Marriott hotel in which a senior citizen was thrashed for allegedly calling Noor Alam Khan, a dissident member of PTI, a “turncoat,” Atta stated that “anybody who raises slogan, uses profanity or even talks in loud voice against any member of the ruling party would have to face similar consequences.”

Atta emphasized that he is “saying this very clearly” and that “relevant authorities had been instructed” to act accordingly. The senior PML-N leader further asserted that “we have tolerated this for long enough,” but now [that they were in power], they would no longer tolerate this.

He recalled that in 2017 people used to ridicule the PML-N leadership everywhere they used to go, may it be in restaurants, in public places, or parks, but “we never retaliated.”

Public in anger over Atta’s statements

His recent provocative statement has welcomed further public wrath on social media. Netizens say the ruling party instead of accepting the public will is intimidating the public to thrash them and even allegedly using the power of the state to crush the protestors and hecklers.

Social media users said that they are undermining the power of the public and if they dared to use the power of force to crush the public sentiments they will be thrashed further. Some called it an irresponsible statement others said PMLN can’t legitimize their power by force or coercion. This will damage them further if they try to fight the public.

Others said they have just come into power and that too for a few months and have started threatening people. Atta Tarar has been receiving flak on social media since then.
