APS survivor Ahmad Nawaz overjoyed after being praised by President

Responding to his tweet, Ahmad Nawaz said it was a huge honor to be felicitated by the President.

APS attack survivor Ahmad Nawaz expressed gratitude over being felicitated by President Arif Alvi for being elected the President of Oxford Union.

Extending his felicitation, President Arif Alvi called Ahmed Nawaz the ‘biggest hope’ in his tweet on Sunday. “Our biggest hope is the youth of Pakistan. I congratulate Ahmad Nawaz, an APS survivor who also lost his brother Harris in the heinous Peshawar massacre, on being elected as President of Oxford Union. We must register that despite all setbacks Pakistan will keep on shining & rising,” said President Arif Alvi in his tweet.

Responding to his tweet, Ahmad Nawaz it was a huge honor to be felicitated by the President of ‘our beloved homeland’. Adding that he is grateful for the support he has received so far in his journey. Nawaz said that he will continue to endeavor to empower the youth.

“An incredibly huge honor to be congratulated by the President of our homeland Pakistan! I’m truly grateful for all the support I’ve received from Pakistanis at every step. I shall continue trying to empower as many young people as possible and work towards a more equal world,” said Ahmed Nawaz in his tweet while responding to a message from President Arif Alvi.

Ahmad Nawaz was elected the President of the Oxford Union in March of this year. Earlier, assassinated Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto was also the President of the Oxford Union presenting Pakistan.

Nawaz had lost his younger brother in the APS Peshawar massacre. Following the incident he moved to the UK in 2014 with his family. After recovering, he continued his studies in the UK and made huge strides.

In his tweet last week, he said he is immensely proud to assume his duties. “Immensely proud to have finally assumed my duties as the President of @OxfordUnion In my time as President, I look forward to having world leaders debate the most pressing issues, empowering young people through this platform & upholding freedom of speech! A long way to go…,” he said in a tweet.
