Condolences pour in on the passing away of Rafiq Tarar

Rafiq Tarar died at the age of 92 in Lahore. His grandson, Attaullah Tarar, who is also a PMLN leader confirmed his death in a tweet. Rafiq Tarar was the president of Pakistan from 1997 to 2001. Condolences poured in from prominent politicians including President Arif Alvi.

Former president Rafiq Tarar passed away on Monday, the family sources confirmed. Rafiq Tarar had been suffering from health issues for a long time.

Rafiq Tarar died at the age of 92 in Lahore. His grandson, Attaullah Tarar, who is also a PMLN leader confirmed his death in a tweet. The time and place of his funeral prayer will be announced later. Attaullah Tarar said,” My grandfather Muhammad Rafiq Tarar passed away.”

He was the president of Pakistan from 1997 to 2001. Condolences poured in from prominent politicians including President Arif Alvi.

“General Qamar Javed Bajwa, #COAS, expresses heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of former President of Pakistan Muhammad Rafiq Tarar. “May Allah blesses his soul & give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss, Ameen”, ISPR quoted COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa as saying.

#CNS Adm Amjad Khan Niazi expresses deep condolences on the demise of the former President of Pakistan Mohammad Rafiq Tarar. “May ALLAH blesses the departed soul and give strength to the grieved family to bear the loss, Ameen”, said DGPR Navy in a tweet.

“President Dr. Arif Alvi expresses grief over the demise of former President Muhammad Rafiq Tarar The President expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of the former President May Allah forgive the deceased, grant him a place in the tide of mercy, President extends sympathy to the family, prayers for patience,” read a tweet that appeared from the official account of President Arif Alvi.

A tweet of condolence appeared from the official Twitter account of the National Assembly of Pakistan. “Speaker NA @AsadQaiserPTI & Deputy Speaker @QasimKhanSuri have condoled the sad demise of Former President of Pakistan Muhammad Rafiq Tarar. They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace & give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss,” read the tweet.
