Daren Sammy slams a follower for calling Pakistanis terrorists

Darren Sammy, West Indies cricketer and skipper of Peshawar Zalmi, the franchise in Pakistan Super League reportedly slammed a follower on social media for calling Pakistanis terrorists.

Sammy recently visited Peshawar to attend the kit launch ceremony of Peshawar Zalmi. In his maiden visit to Peshawar, Darren Sammy received immense love, respect, and affection from the people of Peshawar.

To express his gratitude, Darren Sammy shared his picture on social media with a moving caption to express solidarity with the people of Pakistan. He also thanked Javed Afridi, the owner of franchise Peshawar Zalmi.

“Thank you for introducing me to the love I receive in Pakistan. Nothing but love for u brother and your people,l. United we stand divided we fall. Let love make the world go round @JAfridi10,” the post reads.

Following his post, a social media follower commented ‘They r terrorists’. Irked by the comments Darren Sammy retorted asking the follower to leave his page.

Whereas during his stay in Peshawar Darren Sammy also visited the Army Public School on Monday. He paid homage to the martyrs of Army Public School Attack, Peshawar.

The West Indies player received a warm welcome from fans as he arrived at the city from Islamabad, representing the team the fourth time in Pakistan Super League. He was also gifted Peshawari chappal on his visit to the city. Peshawar Zalmi will kick off their PSL 2019 bid against Quetta Gladiators in Dubai on February 15.

Major General Asif Ghafoor, DG Inter-Services Public Relations also met Darren Sammy on behalf of General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff. He met along with Javed Afridi in Islamabad.

DG ISPR warmly welcomed the Peshawar Zalmi captain and thanked him for his love and passion towards the Pakistan people and PSL. “The way Darren Sammy loves the people of Pakistan, our people love you back equally,” he told the West Indies Twenty20 World Cup-winning captain.
