Dia Mirza parts ways with her husband after five years of marriage!

Indian model turned actress turned producer, Dia Mirza and her husband Sahil Sangha have on Thursday announced separation after five years of marriage. Mirza tied the knot with her long-time steady Sahil on October 18, 2014. Lest, after 11 years of courtship, Dia and Sahil have decided to cordially move forward in their lives.

In a social media post, the actress said, “After 11 years of sharing our lives and being together, we have mutually decided to separate.” The 37-year-old actress revealed that it’s a mutual decision and both of them still have respect and love for each other.

“We remain friends and will continue to be there for each other with love and respect. While our journeys may lead us down different paths, we are forever grateful for the bond that we share with each other,” she continued.

Mirza further wrote, “We thank our family and friends for all their support and understanding and members of the media for their continued support and request everyone to respect our need for privacy at this time. We will not be commenting any further on this matter.”

Sahil and Dia Mirza first met when he visited her with a script. Interestingly, they didn’t realize, until much later, that they were in love. Sahil once told Bombay Times in an interview, “What I love the most about her is that in one word, she is pure. She is very giving and all heart, which is also a problem as then you need to take care of your heart. She lights up a room as soon as she walks in.”

The beautiful actress has come a long way after winning the Miss Asia Pacific title. After making her acting debut with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein in 2001, Mirza subsequently appeared in many supporting roles. Today, Sahil Sangha and Dia Mirza own a film production company called Born Free Entertainment. The first production venture under their banner was Love Breakups Zindagiin 2011, which was directed by Sahil himself.

On the work end, The actor was last seen on the big screen alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, which released in June last year. She is also active on the digital platform and is featuring in Kaafir.
