Did PMLN run a paid TikTok campaign for Shehbaz Sharif during SCO Summit?

The video is a compilation of the TikTokers talking about the meetings and engagements of Shehbaz Sharif at the summit. All these TikTokers have apparently a huge following.

A score of social media users has shared the videos on TikTok publicizing about the visit of PM Shehbaz Sharif to the SCO Summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The video is a compilation of the TikTokers talking about the meetings and engagements of Shehbaz Sharif at the summit. All these TikTokers have apparently a huge following.

Some Twitter users are alleging that these TikTokers are part of the PMLN media cell who are being paid apparently to do a campaign for Shehbaz Sharif. A Twitter user noted that all the TikTokers have posted similar content, praising Shehbaz Sharif. The video is heavily circulating on social media since yesterday.

Netizens are questioning the need for the government to run a campaign through TikTokers. Others opined that the campaign by TikTokers suggests that the visit of PM Shehbaz Sharif to the SCO summit failed. Some have accused the government of wasting taxpayer’s money on the promotional campaigns for Shehbaz Sharif. PMLN has not responded to the claims of running paid campaign for Shehbaz Sharif on TikTok.

Earlier, Twitter users had trolled PMLN claiming that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was the center of attention at the SCO summit in Uzbekistan.

The official Twitter handle of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had shared the picture of Shehbaz Sharif standing amid world leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The ruling party of the coalition government had claimed that Shehbaz Sharif received a warm welcome from the world leaders at the SCO summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

“After four long years, Pakistan finally gets a leader who commands global respect,” said PMLN official Twitter account. A few hours later, social media users shared the video from which the picture of Shehbaz Sharif was taken. The video showed leaders visiting the traditional food stalls of Uzbekistan set up at the summit and tasting traditional food. The particular video showed Shehbaz Sharif walking at the back of the group.
