Don’t know if I am in Islamabad or Canada: Gippy Grewal all Praises for Pakistan

Indian Punjabi actor Gippy Grewal while on his pilgrimage to Kartarpur also visited Islamabad and thinks that Pakistan's capital is as beautiful as Canada. Islamabad is the second most beautiful capital in the world after London.

Indian singer Gippy Grewal was so impressed with Pakistan’s capital that he said: “Islamabad feels like Canada”.

“Looking at the roads and the city’s [Islamabad] beauty, I felt like I was in Canada,” Grewal said while speaking to a foreign media organization.

The singer had come to Pakistan to visit the recently inaugurated holy shrine Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.

“The motorway was well maintained and the roads were so well carpeted,” Gippy Grewal said, adding that “the cars were running at such a fast pace with no obstructions in their way.”

The singer was pleasantly surprised to see such hygienic conditions and the impressive infrastructure around him. The sights of the city impressed Grewal so much that he wondered whether it was Pakistan or any other country.

“Islamabad is a very beautiful and well-planned city,” he said.

Grewal was also happy to see public washrooms in the capital. He said that there were “well constructed” washrooms as soon as one got off the motorway to arrive at the shrine.

The singer said he didn’t see “any garbage on the motorway and that there were no animals or children running around.”

Islamabad – Among Safest Cities on Earth

With an ascension of 69 spots in the latest list of World Crime Index, Islamabad has become one of the safest cities in the world. It stood at 232nd in the annual list last year but steadily progressed to the 301st spot in the current list, indicating a significant drop in the crime rate.

The reports stipulate that the crime rate decreased from 32.88% to 28.63% in one year. Interestingly, Islamabad is now safest than Sydney, Berlin, London, Moscow, Paris, and Shanghai.

The international organization, Numbeo issued the list following a survey in 374 cities with 799,900 participants. The survey addressed property crime, violent crimes, hate speech, drug dealing, and physical attacks.

IG Police Islamabad, Mohammad Amir Zulfikar hailed the rankings and credited the effective strategies of law enforcement agencies in Islamabad for improving safety in the federal capital. He reiterated that effective policing will continue to work for improved law and order in the city.
