FaceApp Challenge: Aged, old looks of world-famous celebrities

Celebrities and regular folks alike have been sharing on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites images of what their faces would look like in 60 years. Let’s be honest, the ‘old’ version looks extremely realistic.

Have you ever thought how would you look when you are 60 years old or beyond? Have you ever imagined how would the world-famous celebrities look like when they get old?

Unless you have been living under a rock, photo-edit applications have made it possible in the social media world. Chances are that you might have already seen wrinkly old photos of your friends or celebrities or you may have tried FaceApp already.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based photo editor has taken the internet by storm and the hashtag #FaceApp is trending everywhere in the social media world.

Because of the simple face mapping AI trick, the app has gone viral in the region and across the globe this week. Celebrities and regular folks alike have been sharing on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites images of what their faces would look like in 60 years. Let’s be honest, the ‘old’ version looks extremely realistic.

The app, developed by Russian company Wireless Lab, is actually two years old, but was recently updated with an improved old age filter.

Celebrities have joined the #FaceAppChallenge to reveal their greyed, wrinkled appearances to the world. Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor tried it too.

Seeing the result, a social media user applied the filter on several other Bollywood stars.

What is FaceApp?

Reportedly, FaceApp is a mobile application designed to create realistic transformations of faces using various filters and features. It has been reported that the first version of the app was released in 2017.

The free version offers a limited choice of filters, including the one that is going viral right now. The ‘old’ option gives you three versions of your face – two young and one that looks really old and spookily probable.

Among others, the King of Swing Wasim Akram applied the old age filter and shared his photo on Twitter.
