Farah Gogi serves defamation notice to Umar Farooq Zahoor for Rs 5B

Farah Gogi said that the allegations were only meant to defame her and make Imran Khan controversial. Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had also threatened to take legal action against Umar Farooq Zahoor for the allegations leveled against him regarding the Toshakhana gifts.

Farhat Shehzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, has served a defamation notice of Rs5 billion to Umer Farooq Zahoor, Journalist Shahzaib Khanzada, and Geo Tv, for leveling allegations in Toshakhana watch selling case.

According to the details, criminal cases would also be filed against Farooq, Geo Tv and Shahzaib Khanzada for defaming Farhat Shehzadi by launching a derogatory campaign against her.

The defamation notice said Farhat Shehazadi did not visit Dubai in 2019, so how can she sell the watch to Umer Farooq Zahoor? Moreover, it demanded an apology from Umer Farooq, Geo Tv, and Shahzaib Khanzada within seven days or face a defamation suit.

She also said that the allegations were only meant to defame her and make Imran Khan controversial. Farah Gogi is a close friend of the former first lady.

Pertinent to mention that earlier, PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan had also threatened to take legal action against Geo and Jang Group, journalist Shahzaib Khanzada, and Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor for the allegations leveled against him regarding the Toshakhana gifts.

Toshakhana allegations

Earlier, the Dubai-based businessman Umar Farooq Zahoor claimed that he purchased an expensive watch originally gifted to Imran Khan by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman from Farah Gogi and PTI leader Shahzad Akbar.

Umar Farooq Zahoor claimed that he has evidence to prove he bought the rare watch and three other Toshakhana gifts from Farhat Shahzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, for 7.5 million Dirhams in cash.

The millionaire businessman gave an interview to Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo channel and showed evidence of the purchase as well as all the Toshakhana gifts he owns now. He also alleged that he was later on blackmailed and fake cases of money laundering were registered against him by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at the behest of Shahzad Akbar.

The story raised a storm in Pakistan as Imran Khan gets criticized, especially by the PML-N camp. PTI has completely rejected the allegations, however, leaders from the ruling coalition continue to berate PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
