Father hugs daughter after Commissioning Ceremony in Naval Academy

The video was widely shared on Twitter with netizens dropping mixed comments. Some shared the joy of the father-daughter duo while others objected to the duo for breaching professionalism.

A video of the young daughter making her father proud at the Commissioning Ceremony yesterday at Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi went viral on social media.

The video shows the girl walked up to the father with her honorary sword while the father, himself a naval officer hugged the daughter in the video. Both father and girl hugged each other. Father appreciated the daughter and patted her back.

The social media users who shared the video said that the video was taken after the ceremony by the family. The user added that both father and daughter hugged each other after the ceremony. A hug as a token of love from the father for her daughter said the user. Other users criticized the family for nepotism as well.

A lot of young girls and boys have been joining civil and military services following the footprints of their parents. A similar example was set by Rabail Kennedy, a Pakistani-Christian girl who qualified for foreign services of Pakistan in CSS examinations.

Rabil’s father, John Kennedy is a driver in the Legal Wing of the Federal Board of Revenue. Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue also congratulated John Kennedy on the success of his daughter. The Federal Board of Revenue issued an official letter congratulating the father-daughter duo over the esteemed accomplishment.

 

The picture of the letter circulated on social media. Social media users from Pakistan and outside, rallied in to congratulate the family. They commented that the success of Rabil Kennedy from a minority Christian community heralds that Pakistan is heading towards becoming a secular and inclusive state. Where even members of minorities are availing the opportunities to excel and serve the country.
